My Love Is Not Dependent On You
Poem on selfless love
It doesn’t matter whether you love or care
Togetherness or separation is not the question
You may curse or kiss me
But the love that flows is uninhibited
Your careless words may hurt like an arrow,
Exposing the attachment of my ego
But deep down, I know,
I am not here to threaten your independence
You are free to do or be what you are
And I do and be what I am
It is my heart’s choice to caress you
irrespective of whether you feel so
Like a doggy wagging my tail
My dangling tongue wetting the floor
Each time I see you
An innocent love jumps out
Not dependent on your reciprocation
Its existence is pure in every manner
Love is all I feel
Love is all I become
No mind, no ego, no questions
Love dissolving all the barriers
My love is a rebel against society
and a prayer in solitude
